Booster Meeting 4/14/25

FLL Explore

  • Need to get 4 more FIRE tablets to cover all teams

  • Rich made a motion, Paul seconded, all in favor


FLL Challenge

  • Brittany Bruck, 1023 alumn, asked if we could giver an old table to her school. All in favor.

  • 8579 is borrowing one for STEM night at DRE


Robo-Mules

  • Doing a level 3 climb, which is better than most other FTC teams

  • Shirts are in, mentors/coaches are paying for their shirts

  • Competing on May 17


Girls

  • Making their own shirts for the event on May 17 (Use Soroptimist money for this)


Open House

  • Saturday May 10 from 10am - 2pm

  • Laptops set up for registration

  • At least a few things set up for each level

  • Remind teams to get area cleaned up and charged so they can be driven, set up tri-boards


FTC

  • Fundraiser is going well with Sidelines cards, all are distributed. This will bring in $1,000 per team. 

  • Broncos is doing miniature golf outing with hole sponsors. 

  • Chris Sommers has arranged for a $5,000 sponsorship from Vistra Corp for $1,000 for each FTC team. 

  • Classical Engineers participating in Michiana Premier event June 19-22 in South Bend.


MDE grant - working on paperwork for BPS - funded at 60% of initial


FRC

  • Heading to worlds on Wednesday

  • Trailer loaded on Saturday. 

  • Still confirming hotel registrations for Worlds. 

  • IRI registration is open now. 

  • Banquet at Compelled Church on May 16 at 6pm.

  • Adopt-a-Road clean up on April 26.

  • Working with a Traverse City team to help them grow their program to lower grades. New STEM center there.

  • Travel cost $79,000 this year. We have to do something to bring down the cost. Need to create and stick to a budget for the robot

  • Purchased a tool box/chest for 8423 through Mike Tegtmeyer.


General:

  • Registration is open for K-8 and payments are coming in.

  • Discussion on the webstore for product. Denny is going to check with Letterman to see what products we can have in a webstore and if it can be a fundraiser and how they would make that happen. We may stop the store that Nick set up. Right now people are placing orders on the website, paying via PayPal, which comes to Boosters, and then Boosters has to pay the third-party company. We’re currently not doing that because we’re not set up with the third party to make the payment automatically. Product gets shipped directly to the house.
