Week 2: January 19-24th

This week our school district was closed for 4 days. Unfortunately this made us miss a big portion of our week. Despite this setback we were still able to accomplish some of our goals.

Build

To begin this last week we took some time to continue prototyping and we made decisions on which subsystems we wanted to use on our robot. For this week we are going to continue working on proving our concepts and go into further detail on what we want on our robot.

Prototyping an idea we have for our climber.

Programming is continuing to work on the turret and using the limelights to track positions.

CAD

From home some students were able to continue to work on CAD. A few members were able to online chat with a mentor remotely for advice which was helpful for going forward. This week we will continue to keep working.

8423

On Saturday our electronics team helped 8423, our 8th grade team, wire their kitbot. Every year we have 8th graders that are interested in FRC move up after their FTC season. This gives them extra experience for the next season when they move up to 1023.

Strategy

Our team is lucky enough to have dedicated people who take time out of their days to help us learn more. We had a team member who was on the team in 2017 come in and give us advice on how to move forward with strategy. He gave us tips on how to make connections with other teams and what to look for in other robots.

The strategy meeting.
