Vote Becky on to the Board
Justin Hayter makes a motion to approve appointing Becky Dorner as a trustee on the Boosters Board. Paul Nelson seconded the motion. All in favor. Welcome Becky! (Becky was the only applicant for Denny’s posted position. That hiring process should happen soon so she can get a badge for entry into the building.)
Proposed new Board. Please review and be ready to vote at next month’s meeting.
President - Nick Bird
Vice-President - Paul Nelson
Treasurer - Jodi Russ
Secretary - Lynn Bodai
Trustees - Justin Hayter, Rich Stewart, Becky Dorner, Pat Henry, Andy Marckel
FLL Explore:
32 kids (6 teams)
4 coaches secured, potentially 5. Jodi will set up a meeting with them.
FLL Challenge:
42 kids (5 teams)
4 coaches and 4 assistant coaches secured. Jodi will set up a meeting with them.
FTC:
Didn’t push for new kids because we had so many returning. Broncos has 6 kids and FLAG has 7 but every other team has 12 - 14.
Fundraisers
Sidelines will bring in $1,000 per team.
Vistra is giving $2,500 this year. Loose Screws will be paying for one of the fields and will give some money to Robo-Mules and Turning Gears, rather than dividing it up among all the teams.
FTC event will be either Nov 7 or 21. Waiting on FiM to assign the dates. The high school is available both of these dates.
FTC kickoff September 12.
Grant from Boeing for $1,000 for Paul’s time should have just come in and will be split between 5237 and Boosters.
FRC:
IRI this week. Hotels and food are paid for.
STEM Camp week of July 27. Becky is working with Grace and Brenyn on the schedule.
Senior pictures will be July 27 at 6:30 with Ryan.
Fair Parking July 31 (fireworks) - August 8. Still need lots of holes in the schedule filled. Ken and Becky will get the trailer up there on Friday night. Becky has filled in all the spots that she’s available. Lynn and Jodi will fill in the rest.
HundredX starting Aug 3 through Sept 1.
Google doc for Goonettes will close Aug 1. Meet Aug 5 to set up practicing and will include FTC girls. Competition is Oct 10-11 and they will need a drive coach for that.
Becky and Andy will be holding a team meeting in the next two weeks to go over everything with the team.
Rich needs to update the contact information for Apple Giving through Benevity. That should be Becky.
Financial Report:
Bank account has been updated to reflect Jodi Russ as the “account owner” and both of Jodi’s cards (credit and debit) are working.
Jodi and Denny met with Lynn Bodai at the bank and have her set up with a debit card for FTC.
Nick Bird makes a motion to approve adding Becky Dorner to the bank account with both a credit and debit card for the FRC level. This will be in place of assigning one to Andy Marckel. Lynn Bodai seconded the motion. All in favor.
General:
Stadium clean up - Becky has emailed to ask for the schedule and see if BX is still doing clean up.
Becky Dorner forwarded the Non-Profit license update so the address will be changed when that is renewed (due Oct 1) and W-9 and Tax Exempt paperwork will be updated.
FIRST site is not ready for “orders” to be placed, meaning we can’t pay for registration for any of the teams yet and get the FLL new season products ordered.
Becky, Lynn and Jodi met with Jackie Lancina this morning to make sure we have things in place to continue being successful.
We need access to the “hub” that allows us to request tables and chairs. We have access to request building spaces.
We requested use of room 305 (tiny room off FTC room for tools) and room 200 (classroom for evening practices of presentations only). Waiting on Dr. French.
Nick is working on a grant request from the Bedford STEM money for the laser cutter. Possibly $25,000 - $30,000.
Nick mentioned that we could possibly get World Class Computers to donate some.
We need to ask Jackie about Adobe licensing for the Creative Suite as they’ve used Denny’s teacher license.
Meeting Adjourned at 8:12pm.
